CAUAYAN CITY, ISABELA – Another Filipino rider stood proud on the podium of stage winners in UCI-sanctioned Le Tour de Filipinas. Rider number 122 Arnel Quirimit utilized the power of firm focus to outplay the remaining 74 contingents.
The GO21 Assistant Captain Quirimit was among the 40 riders from the breakaway group that led the last 60 kilometers of the race.
Starting as a cyclist during college, Quirimit gradually took his glory in cycling by being hailed as Rookie of the Year during the Marlboro Tour in 1994. His service in the Philippine Army ranking as sergeant never stopped him to continue racing and cap off as Champion for Tour Pilipinas in 2003, among his many achievements as cyclist.
